Acosta 30, was named the MLS MVP in 2023, and since rejoining the MLS in 21’ is also a 3 time MLS All-Star and remains one of the top players league wide also scoring 48 goals while also notching 62 assists in the process of those 4 years and is seemingly getting better and better.

Acosta remains in the 90th percentile in Goals, Passes into the final 3rd of the pitch, along with being in the upper 98 and above in assists, expected assists, key passes and passes into the penalty area. Dallas had taken a step this offseason to improve its defensive depth and play after seeing a major drop in production for the back during last year.

However, Acosta will provide a one man show when it comes to creating on the offense and will be someone surely to constantly bring the ball to the boot of Musa, Farrington and all other forwards for Dallas.

CSO and Director of FC Dallas, André Zanotta has already commented on the acquisition, Acosta. When asked what he’ll bring he simply said “magic”. According to Zanotta he’s been speaking with Cincinnati since last year about the availability of Acosta and was finally allowed to speak with his agent earlier this year. The big thing is that when you bring in a player of this caliber, and spend that kind of money to get him you want to make sure that the player wants to be here, so Zanotta captain, constant contact with his agent to make sure that this is the destination that he wanted.

When speaking with Acosta on Super Bowl Sunday, Zanotta said that his two big factors were winning and family. So they pitched them their vision on a path to winning a championship and being at the top of MLS and wanted to make sure that Texas would be a good home for him and his family so Zanotta assured him that they will be taken care of and welcomed to Texas with purely open arms and opened hearts.

Surely with new Gaffer Eric Quill’s 4-2-3-1 lineup he will be apart of the Attacking middle, right behind Petar Musa who already had 16 goals last season and will surely benefit even more from having a player like Acosta right behind him setting up his shots on goal.

Overall, after an offseason that saw Ferreira, Valesco and Arriola leave with a new youth save headed to FC Dallas, Acosta was a sight for behold for fans as he will be just what the Doctor ordered, a ready to win now high class player, and a mentor for all the new youth for the club np hopefully setting Dallas up for a bright future of winning.
