FC Dallas vs Sporting KC

Tonight, FC Dallas will take on a Sporting KC club that has yet to notch a win so far in the new season and has to go as far back as September of last year since they last won a match. 

Sporting KC are tied for the second most goals allowed per match this season and it is no secret how much they’ve struggled on both ends of the pitch this season.  

An interesting stat on KC is that they actually have had the 3rd highest possession percentage this season with 57% per match, yet can’t seem to do anything with it only scoring 5 goals so far. FC Dallas defenders should be able to keep them from getting inside the box as they are towards the bottom of the league in Expected Goals, Shots on Target, and Big Chances. 

On the other side of things, FC Dallas is coming off a much-needed win after 2 tough losses and a big breakdown in the match Vs Colorado. The hope is that with an Ailing KC offense, the FCD Defense can work some things out on the back half and continue to come together as a defensive unit in hopes of a successful season. 

FC Dallas also doesn’t command possession of the ball much during the match so it will be an interesting matchup with KC as stated they tend to have the ball more than anyone in the league. So it seems that when FC Dallas scores, it will have to be on quick counterattacks and big plays through the box. FCD is also top 4 in big chances missed and this should be a key game to sort some things out and get the attacking front up to par. 

This should be a match that FC Dallas is able to win along with fine-tuning some things but the last thing you want to fall victim to is a trap match and play down to your opponents. Hopefully we will see Quill’s squad come out with some fire and hunger to make sure they walk away from this match with a win and some momentum heading into next week vs Atlanta.
